Rangers are working flat out to get deals over the line ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline.

It's understood Albanian star Nedim Bajrami is in advanced talks over a season-long loan deal from Italian outfit Sassuolo, with Gers holding an option to buy this summer. Bajrami, 25, is seeking an exit from his club following their relegation to Serie B and Philippe Clement views him as the perfect fit at Ibrox.

The versatile star - who made history in the summer by scoring the fastest goal in the Euros - can play as a No10 or out wide and could replace wantaway Todd Cantwell. The ex-Norwich City playmaker has agreed personal terms with Blackburn Rovers after travelling south for talks.

But Cantwell is waiting on Ewood Park chiefs pulling the trigger on the move after a reduced six-figure fee was struck with the Light Blues. The 26-year-old has been training with the Gers B team after submitting two transfer requests over the summer.

Rovers boss John Eustace is also keen on a deal for Rabbi Matondo but Rangers are reluctant to sanction a loan move. Norwich City have already had an offer turfed out by the Glasgow giants. Matondo - who netted a double in Saturday's 6-0 rout over Ross County - is one of the highest earners at Ibrox. Meanwhile Scott Wright is poised to finalise his switch to Birmingham City, where he'll link up with Gers defender Ben Davies.

As for more incomings, Rangers face competition land Hoffenheim star Stanley Nsoki. Clement is in the market for a new central defender and France under-21 cap Nsoki has emerged as an option. However, Football Scotland understands the PSG academy product's salary demands could be a stumbling block. Nsoki, 25, worked under Clement at Club Brugge but is under contract at Hoffenheim until 2027.
