Rangers are reportedly keen on bringing Stoke City full-back Josh Tymon to Ibrox this summer, but one of two hurdles may have to be overcome first.

After letting loose their grip on the Scottish Premiership title this season, Gers at least ended the campaign on somewhat of a high when they reached the Europa League final before losing to Eintracht Frankfurt.

But now boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts.

And one of his targets is versatile Potters man Tymon, who has just enjoyed an impressive season at Stoke.

The 23-year-old 48 appearances in all competitions for the Potters, scoring three times and adding four assists.

However, if they want to land the left-back Gers will either have to sell first or hope they reach the Champions League group stage to fund a move

The Sun on Sunday claims that Stoke have set a £5million asking price on Tymon.

Barisic sale an option for Gers

That figure means will need to get through qualifying or potentially sell Borna Barisic instead.

The Croatian full-back did not have the best of seasons at Ibrox. Indeed, he failed to score and provided only three assists in 43 games in all competitions.

That has led to rumours that Rangers may look to cash in on the 29-year-old, who has previously been linked with moves to the Premier League.

Barisic is currently valued at around the £5m mark on transfermarkt, which would the Ibrox outfit to snap up Tymon.

Rangers will enter qualifying at the third-round stage, which takes place in early August.
