Rangers transfer signing impact doubted as team 'still a million miles away'
Nedim Bajrami has had his potential to be a game changer for Rangers doubted.
The attacking midfielder was signed on transfer deadline day as Philippe Clement attempted to put the finishing touches to his squad as they already played catch-up on Celtic. He has reasonable pedigree, especially after scoring a lovely goal for Albania at Euro 2024 which was also the fastest goal ever scored at the finals.
Fans have been excited to see what the 25-year-old can do and he managed an assist for Cyriel Dessers during the 3-0 cup win over Dundee at the weekend. He started that game after playing only the second half of the league win over Dundee United for his debut, and will now be expected to keep his place in the team.

Michael Stewart is under no doubt that Bajrami is a good player with technical ability. But he doubts whether he is what Rangers need just now and if he can have the necessary impact.
He told Premier Sports' Scottish Football Social Club: "The positive is it’s a good result but… there is an air of it never feels like it’s far away from serious pressure and a bit of a catastrophe could unfold. I’ll be honest I still think Rangers are a million miles away, I’ve got to be honest.
"Bajrami looks like a nice, technical player but he’s a big signing for Rangers this season and you’re looking for someone who’s going to have a big impact. Do I think he’s going to have that? Not really. To the level that they need if they really want to make a fist of things.
"That’s not to say he’s a bad player but the fans are expectant, they’re expecting a challenge, but unfortunately I just don’t think the level of where they are wanting, the level of expectation, there’s a massive gulf. I don’t see them being able to get there.”
