Ravindra Jadeja Returns To Training Ahead Of 4th Test After Injury Scare In Leeds

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Tuesday was seen back in the nets where he practising with the bat.

On August 28, Jadeja was taken to hospital for precautionary scans to determine the extent of an injury to his knee during the third Test between India and England at Headingley in Leeds.

Ravindra Jadeja suffered pain on Day 1 of the Headingley Test

On Day 1 of the third Test, Jadeja left the field after the 32nd over of England’s innings as he attempted to stop a ball while fielding at the point but the ball escaped his way and he fell on his right knee. A few minutes later he was seen walking off while holding his right leg.

Jadeja scored 30 runs from 25 balls in the second innings, where the match was already out of India’s hand but his efforts of finding boundaries helped India to take off the losing margin.

Ravindra Jadeja hits at net session after injury scare

Taking to his Instagram stories, the all-rounder was seen hitting the ball in a net practice session which is a good indication for the Indian team and his fans as he could be free of sustaining a big injury.

Jadeja was played ahead of Tamil Nadu off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the first three games as Virat Kohli and the team management decided to field four pacers against England in the moving conditions.

Jadeja didn’t find much success with the ball in the first two games but managed to pick a couple of wickets in Leeds, he halted England opener Haseeb Hameed’s scoring-spree as he crashed into his defences with an angled delivery that hit the top of the off-stump.

Later in the day, Jadeja got the wicket of his counterpart Moeen Ali to get his second wicket in the match. The Saurashtra player scored a half-century in Nottingham in the first Test.

The fourth Test will be played at Kennington Oval on September 2.
