Real Madrid are reportedly continuing to pursue Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe after the teenager's latest feats in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund this week.
Mbappe scored twice at Westfalenstadion in a 3-2 Monaco win, taking his tally for the season up to 21 goals in all competitions, and a report from Marca claims that Real have already put the wheels in motion for securing a transfer to the Bernabeu.
No exact time-frame is specified, but it is claimed that this summer is a possibility.
The suggestion is that Mbappe himself has made known to Real his desire to play for them in the future. It would appear that he would prefer to stay at Monaco for another year before ultimately making the switch in 2018 instead.
It was recently rumoured that Mbappe, who only celebrated his 18th birthday a few days before Christmas, actually turned down the opportunity to join Los Blancos four years ago because he felt he wasn't ready to leave home at such a young age.
According to Duncan Castles writing for Yahoo!, Monaco have already had one enormous offer of €130m from an un-named club for Mbappe, a huge new world record. It is said they expect to receive even bigger bids in the future.
That report claims that bids from suitors desperate to land the hottest talent in world football have more than doubled from €60m in recent months. One suitor is even said to have made a proposal that would see Mbappe remains at Monaco on loan next season.
Marca notes that the Ligue 1 leaders are not in a position where they are forced to sell players to make ends meet. The club has previously encountered financial difficulty, but that is no longer the case, while the Spanish outlet also points out that there are numerous other assets in the squad that could be sold first if raising money was to be an issue.
