Real Madrid are sizing up two audacious raids on Tottenham and Newcastle for a pair signed for a combined £100m, and one deal in particular is being tipped to go through, per reports.

The rising financial power of the Premier League has largely prevented Real Madrid from poaching the league’s finest stars in recent years. Long gone are the days of Los Blancos snaring the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard at will.

However, according to two separate reports, the Spanish giant are once again setting their sights on EPL talent, though this time in the mid-range price bracket.

Firstly, the Telegraph talk up a future move to the Bernabeu for Newcastle talisman, Bruno Guimaraes.

The Magpies midfielder has been a revelation at St. James’ Park ever since his £40m arrival from Lyon to begin 2022.

The Telegraph note Newcastle are on the verge of agreeing a new and improved contract with Guimaraes. However, that may simply be delaying the inevitable.

It’s suggested whether the Brazilian stays at Newcastle for the long haul could depend on how quickly they’re able to establish themselves as a regular on the Champions League. If they’re unable to cross that bridge, Guimaraes won’t lack for suitors who can satisfy his demand.

Chelsea, Man City and PSG are all credited with interest. However, per the Telegraph, a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid is deemed Guimaraes’ “most likely destination”.

The report states: ‘Real Madrid are another club who have taken a shine to the 25-year-old from Rio de Janeiro and were also tracking him during his time in France.

‘There are people in the player’s entourage who would love to see him play for the Spanish giants and in many ways this is his most likely destination when he does leave Newcastle.’

With an extension on Tyneside coming, Guimaraes isn’t likely to be going anywhere in the summer. However, his future beyond the next campaign is sounding like it could reside in Madrid.

Real want Tottenham forward too

Elsewhere, Spanish outlet AS put Real on the trail of Tottenham frontman Richarlison.

The former Everton favourite was a £60m (including add-ons) signing in the summer, though has endured a disappointing and injury-riddled first season with Spurs.

He recently described his season as “s***” and was denied his first league goal for Spurs by the narrowest of margins in Saturday’s clash with Nottingham Forest.

AS report Real are looking to the future with Karim Benzema beginning to struggle with injury now aged 35.

Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are wanted, though both will be incredibly difficult – and costly – to sign.

Richarlison is a more gettable and cheaper option on their radar and his 10 goals in 10 matches for Brazil in 2022 while playing at centre-forward indicate he can be potent when surrounded by elite players.

Whether Tottenham would be willing to axe Richarlison just one year after he arrived isn’t speculated in the piece. Common sense would dictate their decision would largely depend on the size of a Real bid, as well as what happens with Harry Kane.

If Kane is sold – potentially to Man Utd – the club are unlikely to let Richarlison leave too.

Despite his suspect first season with Tottenham, Richarlison is also attracting further high profile interest from Juventus.

The Turin club are expected to sell Dusan Vlahovic at season’s end and Richarlison is viewed as a worthy replacement.
