Real Madrid welcome back a finally fit Eden Hazard as they face the forward's former club Chelsea in the Champions League.

The Belgian has struggled with a litany of debilitating injuries during his two seasons at Madrid following a deal worth up to £120million, but is on the bench against his former club tonight.

Hazard returned to action in the team's 0-0 draw against Real Betis in LaLiga on Saturday, and Zidane said the Belgian player could become "very important" for the team in this decisive stage of the season.

"He played 20 minutes the other day and he felt quite good," Zinedine Zidane told reporters on Monday. "The most important thing is that he doesn't feel anything about his problem.

"He's quite well, he's with us, he's happy to be with us and contribute to the team a lot."

Team-mate Raphael Varana added: "I talked to him and he is very motivated. You are always motivated when you are playing in a Champions League semifinal, and even more so if it's against your former club. He knows our opponent very well."

Vinicius, who performed so well against Liverpool, partners Karim Benzema in attack.

Further back, Toni Kroos has shaken off a muscle injury to start alongside Casemiro and Luka Modric, with Isco making way, while Federico Valverde remains in self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus.

Varane’s fitness is a big boost with Sergio Ramos (calf), Lucas Vazquez (knee) and Ferland Mendy (calf) all still out.

Marcelo, meanwhile, dislodges Nacho Fernandez at left-back.
