Rebecca Adlington includes Mark Foster in her top nine Instagram moments of 2016

Rebecca Adlington has included Mark Foster in a post highlighting her top nine Instagram moments of 2016 after reports earlie this year that the pair were dating.

The Olympic star, who presented the Rio Olympics for the BBC with Mark in August, shared a roundup of her top nine most liked photos, which were captioned: "Thank you for your likes!" She then hashtagged the post: "#2016 #2016bestnine #memories." The photo of Mark and Rebecca in the roundup was taken when the pair attended the GQ Awards arm-in-arm back in September. At the time, the mum of 18-month-old Summer wrote: "Me and @markfosterswim at the @britishgq," accompanied by a love heart emoji.

However, as fans got excited that the duo might be dating, Becky insisted a few days later that they were, in fact, just great friends.

"Me and mark are good friends. That is all. Trust me," she replied to comments suggesting they made a great couple. And Mark also shut down romance speculation after it appeared that Rebecca was touching his leg while they were presenting the Olympics. He said: "It's funny the attention we've been getting at the BBC with people remarking on Becky touching my leg. But the reality is that Becky does that simply to get my attention either when she has something to say or else she wants me to butt in."

The pair attended the GQ awards together

The star split from her husband Harry Needs after 18 months of marriage back in March and spoke about how her baby daughter made her smile after a difficult year. Sharing a snap of little Summer, she wrote: "Everyone has sad days, I've had what feels like a lifetime of them this year. I'm so grateful and lucky to have this little one in my life, she makes me smile every single day. She is my favourite human. #blessed." However, the star confirmed that she and Harry are on good terms, telling the Irish Mirrir: "It's not like we're not talking, because we are – we talk all the time. We are both just working hard on trying to be good parents, and our total focus is on our daughter."
