Reds Caravan stops by Prichard

Jan. 26—GRAYSON — The East Tour of the Cincinnati Reds winter caravan made a pit stop at Prichard Elementary on Friday morning before heading to the Huntington Mall later in the day.

Left-handed starting pitcher Andrew Abbott headlined the group. Todd Benzinger, who caught the final out to clinch the Reds' world championship in 1990, was in Grayson as well.

Reds Minor League Pitcher of the Year Julian Aguiar, minor league slugger Rece Hinds, minor leaguer Sal Stewart, Vice President of Player Development Shawn Pender and mascot Gapper rounded out the group who appeared in front of Prichard students in the gymnasium.

According to Derrick Jordan, Prichard's assistant principal, said "the Reds folks couldn't stop complimenting how well behaved the kids are and how everything was set up perfectly. That's a credit to our wonderful school community."
