Are you feeling that holiday spirit? Are your chestnuts roasting on an open fire? (Granted, these two things could be unrelated.)

Well, if you need someone to light the fuse of Christmas bliss, there’s no better person than that tux-wearing, air-punching National Anthem crooner Rene Rancourt of the Boston Bruins, is there?

Rancourt held court during intermission of the Bruins’ game against the New York Islanders on Tuesday night, singing “Blue Christmas” and “Jingle Bell Rock” along with the crowd. Adding to the delightfully weird nature of this was the giant Bruins bear standing next to him like Elwood Blues.

Here’s Rancourt, doing Elvis’s classic “Blue Christmas” despite not wearing his golden shiny Elvis-like jacket:

Boy, Blue Christmas really gets the crowd PUMPED doesn’t it? What, not Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” (Which the insufferable Pentatonix has indeed made into a Christmas song.)

Lightening things up, Rancourt gets his “Mean Girls” on:

Gotta love the bravery of the New York Islanders fan in back of him, waving his logo during the song despite, you know, there being a giant carnivorous bear there.

Everybody’s bolder behind the glass.

Here’s what it sounded like in the arena:

Just a shame he didn’t get around to any Bruins Christmas classics like “Little Chara Bethlehem” or “Backes Door Santa.”
