Report: Ravens to release running back Mark Ingram
The Baltimore Ravens intend to release running back Mark Ingram on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
The move will save the Ravens $5 million in salary-cap space next season, according to the report. Ingram fell behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards on the Ravens’ depth chart and was the team’s fourth rushing option for most of the season when considering quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The Ravens didn’t activate Ingram for Saturday’s playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, making the veteran a healthy scratch after he was activated late in the regular season from a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Where will Ingram land next?
Ingram, 31, played two seasons in Baltimore after joining the Ravens in 2019 from the New Orleans Saints. The former first-round draft pick made the Pro Bowl in his first season with Baltimore, tallying 1,265 yards and 15 touchdowns from scrimmage while averaging 5 yards per carry.
He totaled 349 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns through nine games while averaging 4.2 yards per carry in a reduced role in 2020. Ingram projects as a free-agent candidate for teams seeking a veteran running back to fill a backup role this offseason.
