Tempers are always going to flare up whenever Real Madrid take on Barcelona in the El Clasico.

It was no exception on Sunday when the two sides met at the Bernabeu, and it seemed as if there may be parity in the scoreline when James Rodriguez conjured up a late equaliser to bring the score to 2-2.

However, Lionel Messi popped up with his second goal of the night to win the game for the Catalan giants and blow the La Liga title race wide open.

And as you would expect there were plenty of running battles throughout the match as both teams looked to come out on top, and one such conflict was between Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal and Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.

The pair were caught on camera getting feisty with each other, with Carvajal even grabbing Suarez's shirt before Ivan Rakitic, who scored his side's second during the match, got involved and separated the two before the incident could go any further.

Carvajal points to the ground at the beginning of the video and appears to provoke an angry response from Suarez, and Marca have now revealed what the Spain international said during the confrontation.

"This is the home of the champions," Carvajal apparently boasted.   "Off to rest, to the Copa del Rey."

It's quite the claim from Carvajal, whose side are by no means guaranteed the La Liga title, especially after letting their lead at the top of the table slip over the past few months.

Barcelona's season looked to be in disarray at one point, but they now look set take the title race down to the wire, with Luis Enrique's side currently leading Real on goal difference having played a game more.
