Richard Sherman: I understand trade talk is just business

General manager John Schneider indicated Sherman will be staying in Seattle, after all.

Rumors began swirling this week that teams were calling up the Seahawks on Richard Sherman's status.

Fear not, Seattle fans. The star cornerback currently isn't going anywhere.

"I wouldn't want to leave this city and my guys, but I understand it's a business and organizational philosophies change,"Shermantold 710 ESPNin a statement.

Coach Pete Carroll dismissed the rumors at the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix, calling the talks "banter" and saying, "Idon't see anything happening."

Sherman was thought to be at odds with his coaches at teammates this past season when he had a sideline spat in October during Seattle's win against Atlanta. In the Seahawks win over the Rams in December Sherman also became animated withCarroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

However, since Sherman still has two years left on his contract and is one of their top defensive players, it would not make sense for the team to get rid of him.
