Riders come back for win in double header

Mar. 28—After getting dropped in game one, the Hulbert Lady Riders bounced back for a back-and-forth win on Thursday, March 28, at the Mounds Eagles.

The Lady Riders picked up a run in the top of the first inning, but that was immediately answered with a trio of runs in their half of the inning. Even though the Riders picked up another run in the inning, the Eagles bounced back for seven runs in the last two innings to take game one.

In game two, the Riders' bats were much more active.

The Eagle got off to a hot start in game two, picking up two runs in the second inning. The onslaught continued with the Eagles taking a 7-1 lead.

Despite finding themselves down early, they bounced back with three runs in the fifth inning.

Both sides were quiet until the top of the seventh inning. HHS exploded for five runs to take a 9-7 lead. The Eagles picked up a run in their half of the seventh, but they couldn't overcome the late attack from the Lady Riders.
