Ridvan Yilmaz drops strong hint on Rangers future after transfer exit suggestions

Ridvan Yilmaz insists he is happy at Rangers and going nowhere this summer.

After being linked with a move away all the way through the January transfer window before establishing himself as first pick at left-back and staying out, the Turk has been mentioned as a possible exit over the summer too. Philippe Clement has already signed Brazilian Jefte and there was speculation around whether Yilmaz could be sold to fund further incomings.

Gers are expected to press on with new signings and there will also be more leaving after John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, Borna Barisic, Kemar Roofe and Jon McLaughlin moved on at the end of their contracts. But the 23-year-old insists he has no interest in being one to follow them out the door.

Yilmaz has pretty much constantly been linked with moves away since arriving in Glasgow with lots of interest from teams in his homeland and elsewhere. This is the latest time either him or his agent has had to shut down the transfer talk.

He said: "I am very happy at Rangers right now and there is no thought about any future transfer for me.

"I am enjoying my break with my family here and I will return to Scotland in time for the pre-season training camp soon."
