Ring video doorbell deals for Amazon Prime Day 2022: The offers available now OLD

Our homes are our castles, and should be protected at all costs - but luckily for us, this July, home security is about to get much more affordable.

Yes that’s right - internet giant Amazon is about to start its annual Prime Day sale. Scroll on for more information on this year’s mega event, how to get the best deals and why Amazon’s Ring Video doorbell should be at the very top of your shopping list.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?

This year’s bargain bonanza falls on Tuesday July 12 and Wednesday July 13 with millions of products ripe for the picking with sensationally slashed RRPs.

There’s not a minute to lose - in fact, the two-day sale will start at one minute past midnight on Tuesday, July 12 continuing right through until 11.59pm on July 13. You may think that’s plenty of time to get your shopping done, but…

What type of deals are available?

With the two main deal types that Amazon operates throughout the event, there’s not a single second to spare. Lightning Deals are where you’ll find the hottest, most in-demand offers, often at prices that’ll have you rubbing your eyes in disbelief. The trick is to move fast (they’re often valid for a few hours) and bag them quickly because regret is a terrible thing. Once they’re gone - they’re gone.

Daily deals, or Deals of the Day, are less high-octane, but still chock full of incredible offers. Sale prices will stay valid for around 24 hours giving you more time to mull over your purchase. However, these are often also available in limited quantities, so don’t take too long to think it over. By the time you’re ready to buy, it might be too late.

Then there are deals that will span the entire duration of the Prime Day event.

What deals on Ring Video Doorbells were there last year?

Amazon’s own-brand tech are among the best deals to scoop on Amazon Prime Day, and the Ring Video Doorbell, as one of the newer inventions, is up there for the highest in demand. Typically there was around 50 per cent off these door-answering gadgets which are so easy to install, even the biggest DIY-phobe (hello there) can master it.

What does the Ring Video Doorbell do?

The camera doorbell connects to an app on your phone, allowing you to screen guests, delivery people, expected visitors and more. You can see and talk to them through the device’s speaker if you’re not able or willing to come to the door. There’s motion detection and colour night vision in the latest design, the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2. With flexi-working now commonplace, you need never miss a parcel again if you’re at the office or at a meeting.

Paring a Ring doorbell with a compatible device such as an Echo is a great first step to upgrading your home the Smart way.

What deals are there this year?

As you’d expect, Amazon is keeping a tight lid on its Prime Day deals, but it has thrown us a tantalising carrot. The giant has hinted at up to 60 per cent off Amazon devices, and has named checked its Ring home security devices specifically. Brace for blow-your-hair-back bargains.

Do you need a Prime account to get the deals?

Amazon holds this sale to thank its Prime subscribers, so if you want a look in on the discounts, you must have a Prime account.

Aside from saving on millions of products and getting free Next Day delivery options (even Same Day delivery in some cities - now that’s customer service), membership opens the door to a world of online storage, entertainment and content, from the latest TV shows on Prime Video to your favourite albums through Amazon Music. Read books and magazines as part of your membership, plug into the latest games on Twitch and save your most precious memories online with Amazon’s image storage, freeing up space on your devices.

Amazon has even partnered with companies like Deliveroo and National Express to offer even more perks to Prime members.

All this for a mere £79 a year, or £7.99 a month (although monthly payments do work out to be a bit more expensive). No need to pay upfront: Amazon will even give you a month’s free trial to try membership out for size. And if you’re a student, it’s only £3.99 a year, half price. It’s a no-brainer.
