Rio Ferdinand handed six-month driving ban for speeding
Rio Ferdinand has been banned from driving for six months after admitting to speeding.
The former-England-footballer-turned-sports-pundit was charged with breaking the 70-miles-per-hour speed limit in a Mercedes on the A27 at Hangleton in Hove on the south coast of England on July 22 last year.
Ferdinand, 41, attended a hearing at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning (August 18) where he was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months having hit a speed of 85-miles-per-hour.

The father-of-three was also ordered to pay a total of £822 in fines and costs, court officials confirmed.
Ferdinand was previously caught speeding in his luxury Jaguar car three times in five weeks on the same road in Manchester in 2012.
He was fined and handed a six-month ban on that occasion, despite an argument from his lawyer at the time, Nick “Mr Loophole” Freeman, that he should only receive a shorter discretionary suspension.
Ferdinand and his wife Kate Wright recently revealed they are expecting their first child together.
He has been in a relationship with the former The Only Way Is Essex star, 29, since 2017 and they were married in September 2019.

Ferdinand and Wright took part in BBC documentary Rio And Kate: Becoming A Stepfamily, which aired earlier this year.
Wright opened up on what it was like to become a new stepmother to three grieving children, while Ferdinand spoke about what it was like to find love again after the heartbreak of losing his first wife.
