The Pride of Rivers are expected to slug it out with KCCA (Uganda), Club Africain (Tunisia) and FUS Rabat (Morocco) in the Group A of the continent's second-tier competition.
“We now know our group opponents in the CAF Confederation Cup and the fact that the games will be starting on May 12. We discussed a little about our opponents but we are in Katsina with a view to brightening our chances in the league,” Festus told Goal.
"We are fully focused on Thursday's league match because we know we have to take our games one after the other."
Rivers United are 16th on the log with 21 points from 16 games ahead of their fixture with Katsina United.
Baldwin Bazuaye's men are also in need of a positive result to steer clear of relegation waters as they are 15th on the log with 22 points from 18 games.
