Smith to Super League
Featherstone half-back Morgan Smith has left the Championship club to take up an offer in Super League.
In a message to the Fev faithful, Smith wrote: “I have always aspired to be a Super League player, having been there before earlier in my career, the opportunity to join a Super League club at this point in my career is an opportunity I can’t turn down.”

Wakefield eye Samoa enforcer

The Samoa international has been told he is free to leave the NRL club, according to Yorkshire Live.
Pete the Greek
There is a lovely feel-good feature video on the South Sydney Rabbitohs website of hooker Peter Mamouzelos, who will represent his Greek heritage at the forthcoming World Cup. (Rabbitohs)
The 21-year-old, who has made five first team appearances for the Rabbitohs, helped the Greeks qualify for their first-ever World Cup back in 2019. He’ll be hoping to add to his seven Greece caps this autumn.
London Broncos sign Australian full-back
Championship side London Broncos have signed Australian full-back Jarred Bassett from their League 1 neighbours London Skolars.
The 30-year-old scored 19 tries in 16 games for the Skolars in 2022.
Grace bids farewell
Wales international winger Regan Grace has bid farewell to St Helens and rugby league as he prepares for a move to French rugby union side Racing 92.
He tweeted: “My time in rugby league has come to an end with a switch to the 15-aside game. Being a part of the Saints family & Super League has been a dream come true and an experience I won’t forget and will be forever grateful for. I can’t wait to get back out on the field with Racing 92.”
France star commits to Toulouse
France international prop Lambert Belmas has signed a new deal with Toulouse for 2023, with an option for 2024.
Belmas said: “I want to stay at Toulouse for a full season with the club, but my primary objective is to accompany Toulouse Olympique towards a return to the Super League.”
The late, great Adam Watene would have turned 45 today (October 7).
Other birthdays: ex-Huddersfield forward Ryan Hinchcliffe (38), former Warrington favourite Ryan Atkins (37), ex-Leeds prop Trent Merrin (33), Featherstone forward Callum Field (25) and Hull centre Cameron Scott (23).
Australia legend Billy Slater holds the record for most tries in a World Cup, having scored 16 for the Kangaroos between 2008-17.
