Robben commits to Bayern until 2015

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has extended his contract with the German giants until June 2015.

Robben, 28, had one season remaining on his existing contract but has signed a two-year extension to commit his future to the Champions League finalists.

"We are very happy that we signed the contract early and extended by two more years, until 2015," CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club's official website.

"Arjen is a very important player for Bayern and also a guarantee for a more successful future for the club."

Robben joined Bayern from Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 and won the German double in his first season with the club.

Though his career at the Allianz Arena has been disrupted by injuries, he has scored 39 times in 61 Bundesliga appearances.

"I've always said that I feel great in Munich and with FC Bayern," he said.

"Bayern is like a family for me, two of my three children were born in Munich, my family and I feel at home here.

"Also this contract extension is the right sporting decision for me. We are a great team and I am sure that we will have great sporting success in the coming years."
