Romeo Lavia's hilarious message to Cole Palmer in Chelsea dressing room after Brighton revealed
Romeo Lavia delivered a comical message to Cole Palmer while he was signing his match ball following his four-goal haul against Brighton & Hove Albion in Saturday’s 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge.
The England superstar became the first player ever to score four inside the first half of a Premier League game and consequently means he has netted six goals in as many league matches so far this season. Only Erling Haaland has scored more (ten) in the division.
The 22-year-old is now level with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard for the most Premier League hat-tricks - three - for Chelsea. It has taken only 40 Blues league matches to achieve this feat.
As is customary, Palmer got his teammates to sign the match ball in the dressing room after full-time. Second-half substitute Romeo Lavia decided to also include a humorous message when it was passed to him.
The midfielder jokingly wrote: "You're a mid player regardless." The managers of both teams hailed the emphatic performance from Palmer, who has carried on his sensation form of last season into this one.
Speaking to Match of the Day, Chelsea head coach Enzo Marseca said: "He [Palmer] scored four, I told him he could have scored two or three more! I knew Cole from years ago at City, he is a top player and just has to continue in the same way.”

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler later conceded: "There are not many players like Cole Palmer in the Premier League, he is special." Since the start of last season, no-one has recorded as many goals and assists in the Premier League - 42 - as Palmer, tied with Haaland.
