Fuming Roy Keane has labelled Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and his teammates "imposters" in a heated debate with Ian Wright.

The Red Devils legend also dug out United away fans for chanting the Portuguese midfielders name at Everton in a lengthy rant. Ruben Amorim's men scrapped to a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town on Wednesday night. Despite the victory at Old Trafford Patrick Dorgu was sent off and goalkeeper Andre Onana was hammered by fans for a number of costly mistakes.

Alejandro Garnacho has also sought the ire of the Stretford End after walking down the tunnel when substituted following the sending off. And Keane, who won seven Premiership titles, has not held back when it came to the players' discipline and effort. Bruno Fernandes was singled out for setting a bad example.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast Keane said: "They draw at Everton like they've won the cup. Bizarre. I see fans at matches singing for Bruno and I think, 'I see these boys and think they're imposters'."

Fellow panelist, Arsenal legend Ian Wright, replied: "No, not Bruno."

Keane continued: "I've had enough of that rubbish man. We watched them in the FA Cup against Leicester a few weeks ago. I watch them at Everton on Saturday. People pretend to be closing people down."

Wright upped his defence of the captain as the debate go heated: "But who brought them back into the game? It's not Bruno [Bruno's fault] Roy. We are talking about somebody who can actually do something to save you lot!"

Keane replied: "Fifteenth [fourteenth] in the league and he's saving them! Praise the lord. You have to have a starting point - talent is not enough. Bruno is a talented player but talent is not enough. Bruno is not a fighter. You have got young players who have to look at somebody and go 'I like what he does'. They all can't put the ball in the top of the net from 25 yards - I get that - But you've got to have someone going 'are you with me!" Are you with me!? Who's he saving?"

Wright then claimed if Fernandes was not at United they would currently be in the relegation places. Manchester United's next fixture is against Fulham at Old Trafford in the FA Cup fifth round.
