The pro12 powerbrokers have handed Munster a Saturday evening visit to Galway to take on Connacht in their penultimate away game of the regular season.
The league clash between Rob Penney’s men and Connacht, who are currently on a three-match winning streak, will be broadcast live on RTÉ Two at 6:15pm on 19 April. With Munster chasing top spot in the league, an away win over Pat Lam’s side, over the Easter weekend, could well set them up for a home semi-final.
Munster lost away to Scarlets at the weekend and gave up their lead to interprovincial rivals Leinster. Both sides meet at the Aviva Stadium on 29 March and the should have all of their Ireland internationals back on playing duty after a post-Six Nations rest period.
Munster beat Connacht 16-12 on their last visit to The Sportsground with Ian Keatley and a penalty trying giving the visitors four points. This season’s league encounter at Thomond Park also went in Munster’s favour. Penney’s men finished outside the top four last season, however, and the New Zealander is keen to make it to the league playoffs in his final season at the helm.
The Pro12 board has also confirmed the dates and times for Ulster and Leinster’s Round 20 match-ups. Mark Anscombe’s side will travel to Scotstoun on [Good] Friday, 18 April for a 7:35pm kick-off with Glasgow while the defending league champions play Treviso at the RDS from 5pm on the same day.
