Ruben Neves' type of player 'will always interest' Liverpool

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is exactly the sort of player who would interest Liverpool, according to assistant boss Pepijn Lijnders.

The Portuguese has enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League, after helping fire Wolves to the Championship title last season.

Neves has been linked with Liverpool previously, due to his connection with Lijnders from their time at Porto when the midfielder was in the academy there.

The likes of Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Neves, who would command a large fee if he were to move.

“I know him very well, his ambition, his passion for the game, his professionalism,” Lijnders told Portuguese media.

“I know what he gives to the team and this type of player always interests us.

“I recognised him when I saw him at Wolves. I saw technique, professionalism. I saw the 2013-14 player I knew.”
