Jarrod Sammut scored a brace of tires in Bradford's victory

The Bulls, who snatched a commendable last-minute draw at champions and arch rivals Leeds on Thursday, only outscored the City Reds six tries to four but largely outplayed a visiting side that began 2013 with similar financial traumas to those which took Bradford to the brink last season.

Jarrod Sammut crossed over for a brace - and kicked over two goals - with John Bateman, Adrian Purtell, Brett Kearney and Jamie Langley adding a try apiece as Jamie Foster added the extras. While Lee Gaskell, Jack Murphy, Chris Nero and Andrew Dixon scored the tries for Salford and Mark Sneyd went on to land four goals.
