Liam Finch gave the visitors an early lead before Rikki Sheriffe pulled Halifax level and although Luke Adamson and Ben Heaton put the hosts ahead, scores from Liam Harrison and Kurt Haggerty saw Barrow take an 18-16 lead at the break.
Harrison again went over as did Liam Campbell in the second period for Barrow, but Halifax were dominant thereafter with Lee Paterson (two), Steve Tyrer, Anthony Thackery, Ryan Fieldhouse and Tony Tonks all touching down.
Daryl Powell ended his spell in charge of Featherstone on a high as Rovers won 16-12 at Batley.
Liam Finn went over after 13 minutes to put Featherstone in front, before Ben Black touched down for the hosts. Frankie Mariano responded, before Tim Spears put the the visitors well in control, with Greg Johnson's late try a mere consolation.
Leigh Centurions were on top form as they hammered York City Knights 52-4.
Steve Maden began the rout after seven minutes before Simon Finnigan, Ryan Brierley and Tom Spencer scored before the break. Brierley scored twice more in the second period to complete his hat-trick, with Sean Penkywicz, Tommy Goulden and Sam Hopkins also crossing. On-loan Sheffield Eagles winger Nev Morrison scored York's only try.
Bottom side Doncaster picked up only their third win of the season after they eased to a 32-12 win over Keighley Cougars.
Sean Hesketh opened the scoring for the Cougars in the sixth minute, but Chris Spurr responded for the home side before two Dennis Tuffour tries put them in the ascendancy. Olly Pursglove got a try back for Keighley before Stewart Sanderson, who kicked six goals, and Mike Emmett sealed the win.
Workington battled back from 18-12 down at the break to record a 32-18 Kingstone Press Championship victory over Hunslet Hawks.
