London Broncos players celebrate

Former Wigan winger Liam Colbon, who made just eight appearances after joining the club from Hull KR, has successfully undergone a shoulder re-construction.

Broncos' head physiotherapist Cerian Parham said: "Liam has worked very hard with both the medical and conditioning staff throughout his rehab and during the off-season to ensure he is in a good place to start the season."

Australian second rower Shane Rodney, who joined the Broncos after playing in the 2011 NRL Grand Final for Manly Sea Eagles, is also poised for a comeback after being out since last June with a neck injury.

Another former Hull KR player, back rower Matt Cook, had extensive knee surgery after an anterior cruciate ligament tear restricted him to just 13 appearances in 2012, but has started running again, while centre David Howell has had corrective surgery on an injured thumb.

The Broncos began pre-season training on Thursday.
