Laithwaite, who made his Wolves debut at Hull KR last month, sustained the injury in Swinton's 38-18 defeat at Featherstone on Monday and coach Gary Chambers said he feared the worst after the back-rower left for hospital immediately after the game.

Laithwaite confirmed the gravity of the injury on Twitter, saying: "Absolutely gutted this is all I need."
