The Neath-based Championship One club, who have a partnership agreement with the Warriors, on Friday lodged the paperwork that will enable Powell to turn out for them on a dual-registration basis.
The 31-year-old Powell, who began training with Wigan last month, was fast-tracked into Super League because of the club's injury crisis and has played in their past two matches from the bench.
However, the Warriors expect to have England prop Lee Mossop back for Monday's Challenge Cup quarter-final against Widnes and coach Shaun Wane has said he would prefer Powell to get more game time with either the Scorpions or Leigh, their other partnership club.
