The Rugby Pod’s - Six Nations Team of The Weekend

– Rob Evans – Evans had a great game around the park and was impressive in the scrum for the Welsh. He is an epitome of the modern prop and did a fine job.

– Dylan Hartley – Much talk throughout the week was on his disciplinary record and he silenced all of his critics with an admirable performance. His throwing was arrow straight and although he struggled in the scrum at times, he put in a real captains performance.

– Dan Cole – For any prop to put in an 80 minute shift is impressive, especially in such a physical game. Cole is regarded very highly in World Rugby and has to be in place for a Lions space.

– Devin Toner – The 6 fft 10 man made his presence felt at the lineout and around the park at the weekend. A vital cog in Ireland’s wheel.

– Alun Wyn Jones – A leader of men and never waivers in games, the weekend was no different.

– CJ Stander – For a debutant he played like he had a 100 caps to his name, carrying was exceptional and has brought his club form to a green shirt.

– John Hardie – Won the battle against Haskell at the breakdown in a scrappy affair at Murrayfield.

– Billy Vunipola – Exceptional at the weekend and looked like a world class number eight, best player on the pitch by far.

– Edoardo Gori – Consistently solid for Italy, a real livewire. Surprising big clubs haven’t gone in for him.

– Rhys Priestland – Came on as an injury replacement and guided Wales to a draw. Difficult circumstances and he showed his pure class.

– Keith Earls – A thunderous defensive display and full of heart. Ireland will be glad he is staying at Munster.

– Jamie Roberts – Mr consistent in the midfield, had Robbie Henshaw’s number all day. Great performance.

– Michele Campagnaro – A very promising young man who has been around for a while, game seems to have improved further under Rob Baxter down in Exeter.

– Andrew Trimble – Wasn’t shown up by his wing counterpart for Ireland, great positional and defensive display. Should of played in the World Cup in many peoples eyes.

– Stuart Hogg – Rock solid, outshone Mike Brown in many areas and could well be the Lions full back. Very mature for such a young man.
