Wilkinson, who turned down Gatland’s initial Lions invitation due to his French rugby commitments, is chasing a second title for his side after helping Toulon lift the Heineken Cup last weekend.
South Africa’s Danie Rossouw opened the scoring for Toulon with a try after just two minutes and although Luke McAlister hit back with a penalty, Wilkinson responded in kind.
Two more successful McAlister kicks gave Toulouse the lead after the break but that was to be their last scoring action as Toulon took control.
Two more Wilkinson penalties and trademark drop goal edged Toulon further ahead and Delon Armitage crossed the line for the second time in as many matches after his cheeky Heineken Cup final effort and Wilkinson put the game to bed with his conversion.
Toulon now play either Clermont Auvergne or Castres in the final at the Stade de France in Paris on June 1.
