RuPaul's Drag Race star Kornbread Jeté has announced that she's been diagnosed with intestinal cancer.

The drag queen and aspiring actor shared the news via her Instagram account, writing: "Recently I was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma. A type of Cancer in the Smaller intestine.

"I'm 100% fine and everything is in the early stages so I'll be back to my normal self in no time. Absolutely curable!"

She then urged her followers to get regular checkups, adding: "I say this to let everyone know that no matter how young you are PLEASE GET REGULAR check ups. I'm glad I caught mine at this stage.

"A lot of health things will be changing for me and I'm grateful for all the support. Ready to get back to the stage again!"

The star was inundated with well-wishes from fans as well as several US and UK Drag Race alumni – with Kitty Scott-Claus, Kahmora Hall, The Vivienne, Trinity The Tuck and Susan Raja all sending their support.

Kornbread is set to appear in the upcoming film Hocus Pocus 2 as a drag version of Mary Sanderson, alongside Ginger Minj and Kahmora Hall.

Speaking about the role, Kornbread revealed she wasn't initially considered for the part. However, producers decided to put Kornbread forward for the part before season 14 of RuPaul's Drag Race had aired.

"[Management] ended up submitting me for it, but we couldn't say anything about me being on Drag Race at the time, so me going to do it was a little bit sneaky because I wasn't supposed to be doing anything before [season 14] was announced," she said.
