Russell Westbrook lied to a restaurant just so he could get a free dessert

Even the potential NBA MVP is trying to save money.

Russell Westbrook will probably end up being the league's MVP this season, and will be eligible this summer for a five-year, $217 million supermax contract, which would make him the highest-paid player in NBA history. But even he likes to save money whenever possible.

In a Snapchat video posted to his wife's account, Westbrook brags about not having to pay for dessert.

"This is what happens when you come to the restaurant, you're trying to get a free dessert. You lie, tell 'em it's your wife's birthday. Haha, woo! Happy birthday, sugar! You got free dessert babe!"

Westbrook's wife, Nina, was actually born in January. Let the record show that Westbrook is padding birthday stats. Typical.

This makes us wonder what else Westbrook has lied about.
