RYAN Fredericks has become Cherries’ first signing since the club returned to the Premier League, with the right-back signing on a free transfer from West Ham.

The 29-year-old, who lined up alongside new boss Scott Parker at Fulham, signed a two-year deal at the Vitality Stadium.

After it was announced that Fredericks would be leaving the London Stadium after four years with the Hammers, there were numerous sides linked with a move, including Southampton, Fulham and Middlesbrough.

However, Cherries moved quickly to secure the services of Fredericks, who has made 63 appearances in the Premier League – all whilst at West Ham.

A product of Tottenham Hotspur’s youth academy, the Potters Bar-born defender will offer pace and experience to Cherries’ survival bid next term.

Speaking after capturing Fredericks, Chief Executive Neill Blake told Cherries' website:“To be able to sign a player of Ryan’s ability and experience on a free transfer is a coup for the football club.

“I know Scott speaks very highly of his professionalism and character and he’s a talented player that will bolster the squad.

“Ryan has experience of the biggest games, playing regularly in West Ham’s Europa League run last season and has crucial Premier League experience which will be important to our squad for the upcoming campaign.”
