Ryan Fredericks looks set to sign for Bournemouth after his release from West Ham United, according to reports.

Fredericks will be released by West Ham at the end of his contract on June 30th. It will bring an end to his four seasons with the club. However, it seems as if he will get the chance to continue his career in the Premier League.

According to Football Insider, the full-back is now in advanced talks with newly promoted Bournemouth.

Having also been of interest to another side returning to the top-flight, Fulham, Fredericks could be close to leaving the capital for the south coast.

The report from Football Insider claims an agreement is close for Fredericks to sign for Bournemouth.

Interestingly, it will reunite him with Scott Parker; he shared a pitch 32 times with the current Cherries manager during their previous spells with Fulham.

But Fredericks will not be heading back to his former club despite their interest. Instead, Bournemouth will likely be his landing spot.

Parker has been hoping to find a new right-back to strengthen his squad ahead of their Premier League return. Last season, he took Ethan Laird on loan from Manchester United in January, but he struggled to dislodge Jack Stacey or Adam Smith.

Both of the existing options are now entering the final year of their contracts. Hence, Fredericks should provide them with extra cover.

The length of any proposed deal with Bournemouth has not been revealed yet.

Ryan Fredericks looking for Bournemouth revival

Fredericks has left West Ham having made 76 appearances for the club. Only 15 of those came in the season just gone.

Now, with West Ham continuing to rely on Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson, he will be leaving for a new challenge. Bournemouth will hope to put the finishing touches to a deal soon.

At the age of 29, he could still have something in the tank to perform for a lower-level, top-flight club. Bournemouth could give him more opportunities than West Ham have been able to.

Fredericks’ ability to adapt to a left-back role if required could also come in handy.

Hence, he will hope to have made the right choice so he can get his career back on track before it is too late.
