Rangers have announced the departures of five out-of-contract stars including Ryan Jack.

Philippe Clement will embark on a major rebuild at Ibrox this summer and the Gers boss has decided to part ways with long-serving midfielder Jack along with Borna Barisic, John Lundstram, Jon McLaughlin and Kemar Roofe.

A statement read: "Rangers Football Club can today confirm the departures of Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, Jon McLaughlin and Kemar Roofe following the expiry of their contracts. With a combined 23 seasons at the club, all five players have represented Rangers with commitment and dedication over a number of years.

"They were all part of the squad that guided Rangers to the UEFA Europa League final in Seville, with Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe lifting the league title with the club in 2020/21. All five leave as Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup winners with Rangers in recent years.

"Everyone at Ibrox and Rangers’ Training Centre thank the departing players for their time at the club and wish them all the very best for their future careers."

Scotland midfielder Jack joined Rangers from Aberdeen in 2017 and racked up more than 200 appearances for the club. However, the 32-year-old had suffered a difficult few seasons with injuries and hadn't featured since picking up a knock away to Benfica at the start of March.

Croatian left-back Barisic has also been a key lieutenant for the club over the last six years and starred under Steven Gerrard as the Light Blues stormed to title glory in 2020/21.

Ex-Sheffield United midfielder Lundstram, 30, became a fans' favourite during the club's memorable run to the 2022 Europa League Final - scoring an unforgettable winning goal against RB Leipzig in the semi-final second leg at Ibrox. But his time in Glasgow came to a bitter end after his unforgivable red card at Celtic Park in May all but killed Rangers' title dreams.

Striker Roofe has endured a torrid few years with never-ending injury issues which meant he could rarely be relied upon. When he did play, though, the ex-Leeds United and Anderlecht hitman often produced and he leaves Glasgow having scored 38 goals for the club.

Finally, back-up keeper McLaughlin is also a free agent after four seasons at Ibrox. The ex-Hearts star was in and out of the team under Gio van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale but failed to make a single appearance during Clement's tenure.
