Ryan Kent Premier League transfer option as ex Rangers star has three English sides on trail

Ryan Kent could find himself playing in the Premier League next season.

The former Rangers winger is expected to leave Fenerbahce this summer after never really getting started in Turkey. The 27-year-old only played in eight league games for Fener, and 15 matches in total, with many of his appearances from the bench as his free transfer turned sour.

He came close to checking out as early as January with Lazio thought to be close to securing a deal to take him to Serie A but that collapsed at the last minute. He is likely to leave now though and journalist Darren Witcoop reports that Premier League new boys Ipswich Town are interested.

Manager Kieran McKenna is said to be a "big fan" and long term admirer of the ex-Ibrox wing wizard. There are also two unnamed English Championship sides in the race for Kent's signature, according to the report.

Kent enjoyed four very good seasons with Rangers, including the 2020/21 campaign where they won the title. But he was allowed to run his contract down and his final season was very underwhelming both from a personal and team point of view, before he left on a free.

Leeds United were always strongly linked with making a move along with other English sides.
