SAINTS’ Stuart Armstrong and Che Adams have been called up to Steve Clarke’s latest Scotland squad for decisive World Cup qualifying play-offs.

The Scots are two wins away from a first World Cup in 24 years, with their last visit to the finals coming in 1998.

Saints stars Armstrong and Adams will need to beat Ukraine in the semi-final (Wednesday, June 1) to set up a clash with Wales already qualified for the final.

That final is set to place on Sunday, June 5, at Cardiff's City Stadium.

Scotland could potentially play five fixtures in June if they reach the final, with three Nations League matches also scheduled.

They host Armenia at Hampden Park on Wednesday, June 8, before travelling to neighbours Ireland on Saturday, June 11. They will end their run of games away in Armenia on Tuesday, June 14.

Leicester-born Adams, 25, has scored five times in 14 appearances for his national team since switching allegiances. He scored three in World Cup qualifying.

Meanwhile, Armstrong could be set to earn up to his 37th cap, having already appeared 32 times for the country.
