Sam Lammers Rangers transfer exit latest as new club joins hunt for Ibrox fringe man

Sam Lammers has emerged as a transfer target for Twente as Rangers prepare to offload the attacker this summer.

The Dutchman was allowed to leave back in January to Utrecht on loan where he has impressed with his 11 goals from 21 appearances in all competitions. It's been a strong return for the Ibrox fringe man and his form has had Utrecht chiefs raving and maintaining a public desire to keep him permanently.

Now, though, according to Voetbal International., they could face competition from another club in the Eredivisie as Twente plot a swoop to take Lammers from Glasgow and add him to their ranks.

We told how the Light Blues - themselves planning a dramatic overhaul - are open to listening to offers for the majority of their squad as manager Philippe Clement moulds his own team for the new season.

Twente, meanwhile, will play in next season's Champions League qualifiers which could potentially be used as a sweetener for the 27-year-old when making his final call.

A sale would also help boost Gers' coffers for their own expected incomings as both Clement and recruitment chief Nils Koppen continue their work behind the scenes.
