Sara McMann Fights Amanda Nunes at UFC Nashville

Top ten-ranked female bantamweights Sara McMann (8-2) and Amanda Nunes (10-4) will face off at UFC Fight Night 73: Teixeira vs. Saint Preux in Nashville on Aug. 8. The UFC officially announced the match-up Monday evening.

McMann, an Olympic Silver medalist in freestyle wrestling, is ranked fourth in the women's 135-pound division. She's hoping to bounce back from a razor-close decision loss to second-ranked Miesha Tate in her last outing and move closer to a rematch with champion Ronda Rousey.

Nunes sits in the eighth position in the UFC rankings. She's won three or her four fights in the organization. Her lone defeat is to top ranked Cat Zingano. The 27-year-old Brazilian is coming off a first-round finish of veteran Shayna Baszler in her last outing. She plans to carry the momentum with her when she faces McMann.

UFC Fight Night 73: Teixeira vs. Saint Preux takes place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Aug. 8. The event is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between top ten-ranked Ovince Saint Preux and Glover Teixeira.
