A little black dress is a classic must-have wardrobe staple that truly never goes out of style. But, what about a little blue dress? Sarah Michelle Gellar, early 2000s icon and sheer bra-wearer, just wore a dress so good, we're convinced that navy is the new black.

On Wednesday night, the actress attended Threads by Instagram's "Chaos Dinner" in Los Angeles while wearing a striking deep blue one-shoulder midi-length dress by Christian Siriano with several ab-baring slashes along one side of her midsection. But the frock didn't stop there, because it was the skirt that was truly chaotic: a thigh-high slit separated half the dress from a silk panel that made up part of the flouncy bottom. She completed the look with matching pointed-toe suede pumps, statement-making metal drop earrings, and several rings.

Her signature blonde hair was slicked back into a tight bun, and her glam included a bronzy complexion, feathered lashes, and a glossy lip.

The dinner, an A-list version of Friendsgiving, was hosted by writer and social media star Evan Ross Katz and Threads by Instagram and had a star-studded invite list that included Gellar, Zooey Deschanel, Kathy Hilton, Real Housewife Crystal Kung Minkoff, Zachary Quinto, Trixie Mattel, Loewe's creative director Jonathan Anderson, and more.

Gellar commemorated the evening with an Instagram roundup showing off her look and giving a shoutout to Katz, who is known for being an expert in all things SMG. "When your #1 @evanrosskatz throws a party for @instagram at @crystalkungminkoff home … you turn it up," she captioned the carousel before giving a nod to the mastermind behind the dress. "@csiriano this dress is everything."
