Boss Dean Saunders has praised Mustapha Dumbuya's attitude despite being on the fringes of his first-team squad at Doncaster.
Since Saunders replaced Sean O'Driscoll at the Keepmoat Stadium, Dumbuya has been restricted to a single substitute appearance in October's 1-1 draw with Coventry.
Big-name signings such as Pascal Chimbonda have restricted the opportunities available to the 24-year-old, and a growing injury list does not appear to have enhanced his chances, but Saunders said: "His attitude has been great actually. He's kept his head on."
Saunders added: "I signed Chimbonda, so at right-back he had Jimmy (James O'Connor) and Chimbonda in front of him.
"In midfield he's had lots of competition down in his position - Carl Bennett's played on the right, (James) Coppinger's played there, Giles Barnes has played there.
"He's had lots of competition but I've just told him to be patient and when he gets a chance to grab it with both hands."
