Scotland call up uncapped trio to Nations League squad after raft of pull-outs
Scotland have added Connor Barron, Josh Doig and Jon McCracken to their squad to face Poland and Portugal.
The uncapped trio come in to Steve Clarke's group for the Nations League double-header, replacing four call-offs in the shape of Celtic pair James Forrest and Greg Taylor along with Robby McCrorie and Che Adams. They join Ryan Gauld, Ben Doak and Max Johnston in looking for their first caps.
Rangers midfielder Barron has enjoyed a strong start to life at Ibrox after his end of contract switch from Aberdeen. He was touted for a potential call-up for Euro 2024 while still a Dons player before just missing out, but will now get his first crack at international football.

Former Hibs left-back Doig has been in squads before after impressing in Serie A and is included despite relegation to Serie B with Sassuolo. While goalkeeper McCracken is on loan at Dundee from Norwich and has been keeping Trevor Carson out the side. At 24, he could be seen as one for the future with most of the other goalies over the age of 30.
Scotland face Poland at Hampden on Thursday night in the first Nations League fixture after promotion to League A, before an away game against Portugal on Sunday. It is hoped the games will be free-to-air with the BBC bidding to land the rights although as it stands no broadcaster has them.
