Scotland vs Hungary halted after Barnabas Varga hits deck as medics rush onto pitch

Barnabás Varga suffered what appeared to be a serious injury during Scotland's clash with Hungary which has halted the action.

The Ferencvaros striker hit the deck following an attacking free-kick after a collision with Anthony Ralston. The player received immediate medical assistance with his teammates and the medics bringing on a cover to prevent the cameras from showing the player on the ground.

The game remains goalless and was halted for around seven or eight minutes. Varga would have to be substituted after the delay as there was clear fears from his teammates who had been demanding the stretcher be brought on to help their stricken pal. There was also then a VAR check for a penalty which would eventually be disregarded.

Varga had scored for his country in their previous fixture against Switzerland but that wasn't enough to prevent a 3-1 defeat.
