Scott Wright thrilled by Birmingham City transfer as Rangers exit confirmed
Birmingham City have confirmed the £300k capture of Rangers winger Scott Wright.
The 27-year-old winger has penned a three-year deal with the League One club and links up with on loan Gers defender Ben Davies at St Andrew's. The ex-Aberdeen star couldn't hide his delight at joining Chris Davies' ambitious side after calling time on his three-and-a-half years at Ibrox.
He said: "I am absolutely delighted. It all happened very fast, but I am delighted to be here and excited to get going. Everybody from the outside can see this club and where it wants to go, and I am very grateful to be a part of that and on the journey."
A Rangers statement confirmed: "Rangers confirms attacker Scott Wright has joined Birmingham City on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance. Wright arrived at Rangers in the winter 2021 window and featured towards the end of that season as Rangers claimed the Scottish Premiership crown.
He would go on the following year to play in the Europa League final, as well as playing and scoring in the Scottish Cup final win over Hearts. He also featured in last season’s Premier Sports Cup final win against Aberdeen and in all, made 120 appearances for the club and scored 12 goals. Scott leaves Rangers with the best wishes and thanks of everyone at the club."
