An 82nd-minute goal from Adam Matthews rescued a point for Celtic in a 2-2 draw at home to Inverness at Celtic Park.

Matthews pounced eight minutes from time to grab a point for the hosts after Charlie Mulgrew got Neil Lennon's side back into the match just before half-time.

Inverness had assumed control with a two-goal lead through Aaron Doran and Richie Foran within the first 35 minutes of the match.

Celtic trail SPL leaders Inverness by three points, but Lennon's side have a game in hand.

There was a resounding 4-0 win for Dundee United against third-placed St Johnstone at Tannadaice, while Aberdeen in fourth also lost, going down 2-1 at Hearts.

Motherwell secured a 1-0 win over Partick courtesy of a John Sutton strike in the 21st minute, and Hibernian claimed a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock with a brace from Liam Craig.

Ross County were also triumphant, beating St Mirren 3-0 at home with a brace from Richard Brittain and a goal from Stuart Kettlewell.
