The Seahawks' 2017 schedule is exactly what they need in the regular season to find their way back to home-field advantage in the playoffs. No NFC team can boast having a more favorable strength of schedule based on the combined 2016 winning percentage of its 2017 opponents (.455).
Seattle will be favored to win the NFC West again, but in the big picture, it's sitting pretty for one more run at a ring.
Seahawks schedule 2017
Week 1: at Packers (Sunday, Sept. 10, 4:25 p.m ET, FOX)
Week 2: vs. 49ers (Sunday, Sept. 17, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX)
Week 3: at Titans (Sunday, Sept. 24, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX)
Seattle gets a marquee opener on the road to get Green Bay out of the way early — before the proverbial tundra is frozen. The other two games make sure the Seahawks will get out of this month with an above-.500 start.
Week 4: vs. Colts (Sunday, Oct. 1, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC)
Week 5: at Rams (Sunday, Oct. 8, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS)
Week 6: bye (Oct. 15)
Week 7: at Giants (Sunday, Oct. 22, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS)
Week 8: vs. Texans (Sunday, Oct. 29, 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS)
The Seahawks can't complain too much here, as they'll be well favored in those bookend interconference home games. That New York trip is long, but Seattle typically does well there and will be well rested for the latest matchup.
Week 9: vs. Redskins (Sunday, Nov. 5, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX)
Week 10: at Cardinals (Thursday, Nov. 9, 8:25 p.m. ET, NBC)
Week 11: vs. Falcons (Monday, Nov. 20, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)
Week 12: at 49ers (Sunday, Nov. 26, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX)
The Seahawks go a little more primetime this month, and also get the benefit of a "mini bye" here. They should feel good about at least splitting those two division road games.
Week 13: vs. Eagles (Sunday, Dec. 3, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC)
Week 14: at Jaguars (Sunday, Dec. 10, 1 p.m. ET, FOX)
Week 15: vs. Rams (Sunday, Dec. 17, 4:05 p.m. ET, FOX)
Week 16: at Cowboys (Sunday, Dec. 24, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX)
Week 17: vs. Cardinals (Sunday, Dec. 31, 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX)
Yes, it's true, Seattle doesn't get its toughest game of the regular season until the penultimate one at Dallas. The Seahawks' schedule is soft in the middle, and only moderately challenging at the beginning and end.
Seahawks schedule 2017, record prediction: 13-3
That might be the floor for how high the Seahawks can fly in 2017 based on a schedule that doesn't seem to have many traps beyond the trips to Green Bay and Dallas. Playing in the NFC West and drawing the AFC South, too, is a dream to pad the neccesary record to finish first in a tough conference.
