The Seahawks have two Russell Wilsons now

For a long time the Seattle Seahawks were satisfied with veteran Tarvaris Jackon as their backup quarterback behind Russell Wilson.

This year the team changed course, electing to go with undrafted rookie Trevone Boykin out of TCU. So far it’s been a mixed bag. Through two games Boykin has shown some tremendous potential and his game-winning drive against Kansas City was a sign of good things to come. He’s also made some boneheaded rookie mistakes, like the pick-six which lost the game against Minnesota.

Whatever else Boykin is, he can do many of the same things that Russell Wilson does on the field. His ability to scramble and extend plays may be what earns him a spot on Seattle’s final 53-man roster.

One play in the Minnesota game was probably the most Russell Wilson play we’ve ever witnessed from anyone not named Russell Wilson.
