The centre-back, 30, returns to his native Argentina after more than a decade in Europe, most of which was spent in France.
After leaving Rosario Central in 2002, the former Argentina youth international played for Nantes and Toulouse before joining Palermo at the start of last season.
He failed to make an impact on the first team though and spent the second half of last season on loan at Lille.
San Lorenzo had been priced out of a move for Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini earlier in the week, and this signing appears to have put that rumour to bed.
