According to Sports Direct News, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will table an offer for the former Manchester United player.

The midfielder, who helped inspire the Old Lady to Italian Super Cup success on Sunday against Lazio, joined the Turin giants last summer after his Old Trafford contract expired.

However, Juventus are unlikely to let go of their 20-year-old given how highly he is rated by boss Antonio Conte.

The latter is understood to have told club officials in July that Pogba and fellow midfielder Arturo Vidal were not to be sold at any cost.

Pogba, now a French international, scored six goals in 38 games for the Bianconeri last season across Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League

Italian giants Inter are closing in on Bologna midfielder Saphir Taider, Sky Sport Italia are suggesting.

The two clubs have been in talks for the 21-year-old and a deal is understood to be on the horizon.

The Beneamata will apparently hand over around £5 million to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara outfit for a 50 per cent share in him.

Bologna will also be given the loan of Inter new boy Diego Laxalt as part of the deal for the Algerian international.

Sunderland could raid Juventus again this summer by making a move for full-back Paolo De Ceglie.

Sky Sport Italia claim that the Premier League side, who have already signed Emanuele Giaccherini from the Bianconeri, may bid for 26-year-old De Ceglie.

Antonio Conte’s men have been keen to get rid of the Italy U21 international for a while now. The defender earns around £1.7 million per season and the Turin club are desperate to get that sum off of the wage bill.

De Ceglie has failed to establish himself in the Juventus first team in recent seasons, and could leave for a fee of around £3.4 million.

Sky Sport Italia are confident Genoa will reach a deal with Napoli to sign Alessandro Gamberini before the transfer window closes.

The Rossoblu are looking for a new centre-back after they sold Andreas Granqvist to Russian club Krasnodar last week.

The stopper, formerly of Bologna and Fiorentina, could join the Marassi outfit on loan for the 2013-14 campaign.

Gamberini’s exit in Naples would be covered by the proposed arrival of Cagliari’s Italian international Davide Astori.

Gamberini, an Italian international himself, signed a two-year deal with the Azzurri – with the option for a third – following his 2012 move from Fiorentina.

The 31-year-old started his career in the Bologna youth system.

Siena full-back Matteo Rubin could be playing his football in Serie A with Sampdoria this season.

According to Il Secolo XIX, the defender is on the transfer radar of the Stadio Ferraris outfit.

The 26-year-old, who underwent meniscus surgery on his knee over the summer, joined Siena in 2012 from Torino after loan spells at Bologna and Parma.

The former Italian Under-21 international started his career with little Cittadella.

Inter striker Samuele Longo is set to finally be unveiled as a Verona player on Tuesday.

Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the newly-promoted side will officially sign the Nerazzurri forward on a year-long loan tomorrow.

The 21-year-old has been constantly linked with a move to the Gialloblu this summer, with negotiations reportedly going on for weeks.

A transfer to Livorno had been rumoured, but it seems that Andrea Mandorlini has finally got his man ahead of the new season.
